Driver Charged With Attempted Homicide After Stabbing Passenger In Harrisburg, Police Say

A 57-year-old man was charged with attempted homicide after stabbing the passenger of his vehicle with a knife Thursday in what Swatara Township police are calling a domestic incident.

Police responded to the Harrisburg Hospital around 10:15 a.m., where the victim arrived with stab wounds, police said.

An investigation found that the victim was heading westbound on Derry Street in a car with Warren Mayo in Harrisburg, when Mayo assaulted the victim with a knife, Swatara police said.

The victim was able to get out of the vehicle and flag down another driver for help, authorities said.

The victim was transported to the Hospital, as Mayo fled the area in their silver 2009 Mercedes Benz, with Pennsylvania registration LMX-7922, according to police. 

Mayo was arrested on a warrant around 7 a.m. Friday, and lodged at the Dauphin County Judicial Center awaiting a preliminary arraignment.

He is facing a charge of attempted homicide, police said.
